HRM Rex Goliath Cabernet Sauvignon – Red Wine

Giant 47 Pound Rooster

Rex-Goliath Cabernet Sauvignon

HRM Rex Goliath Cabernet Sauvignon

HRM (His Royal Majesty) Rex Goliath is named after the Giant 47 pound Rooster, who was a treasured attraction of a Texas circus many years ago.  This California wine from Woodbridge has a sticker stating winner of 30 Gold Medals, so that rose my curiosity and picked up a bottle.  The label reads, dark and intense, long on fruit and short on attitude.

This is one of the better Cabernets I’ve tried and it didn’t have to cost over $40 for a good Cab.  Very smooth, full body, not too sweet and not too dry,  fruit forward, with a nice lingering finish.  Soft tannins, so it’s just my type of wine.  And to top it off, bottle price is under $10!  This makes a great everyday wine, enjoy it by itself or with any red meat dish.

Definitely one to keep around and put under my list of yummy wines!
